The Roeblings in Florida

Donald Roebling, grandson of the man who built the Brooklyn Bridge (Washington Roebling) lived in Clearwater, Florida, starting in the mid-1920s. He was as generous with his philanthropy as he was eccentric, and he soon enough revealed to the city of Clearwater the Roebling genius for industrial design. (click here to read more)

<h5><i><b>Brooklyn Footprints</h5></i></b><p>Governor David Scholtz<p>

Another high profile Brooklyn Footprint in Florida would be that of David Sholtz. Sholtz served as Governor of Florida during the Great Depression from 1933 to 1937. In a 1925 article in The Brooklyn Eagle Sholtz was mentioned as a "Northern Man" (living in Daytona Beach at the time) who could one day become Governor of Florida. Eight years after that article Sholtz did exactly that. <p><i>(click here to read more)<
