The Roeblings in Florida

Donald Roebling, grandson of the man who built the Brooklyn Bridge (Washington Roebling) lived in Clearwater, Florida, starting in the mid-1920s. He was as generous with his philanthropy as he was eccentric, and he soon enough revealed to the city of Clearwater the Roebling genius for industrial design. (click here to read more)

Brooklyn Footprints in Florida

While searching various media sources across the internet for Brooklyn natives who today are living outside of Brooklyn, and who I could corner for an interview, I also kept locating historical connections between Brooklyn and Florida that reached back into history. For example, Florida's 26th governor, seen here reading, was Brooklyn native David Sholtz.(to read more click here)
